THE STRIP
The massive Venetian Resort (which now includes The Palazzo) was opened in 1999 on the site of the Sands. The Grand Canal Shoppes are always a highlight with things like that one gallery where Michael Jackson bought everything (Yoo-hoo!), and the most passionate macaron baker in Las Vegas (only eat one per hour!) Oh, and then there’s Bouchon—which we finally ate at, and it only took a decade to get back there.
The carpeting throughout the casino is mostly red geometric patterns alluding to design motifs found throughout the casino resort. The Venezia Tower is carpeted with a much more traditional, intricate Italian Baroque style. Similarly, the convention center prefunction areas and hallways are more of a late-Baroque/almost Rococo style, with the notable exception being the Venetian Expo Center—which is very colourful, contemporary, and geometric.
