Binion’s Gambling Hall’s hotel (now reopened as the Hotel Apache) is said to be haunted. We explored a little, and found that the rooftop pool certainly was a ghost town—even in 104° heat. Don’t know why—it’s got a great view!

Carpet-wise, Binion’s is actually the first casino to introduce a carpeted gaming floor (they used to have sawdust!). The elegant last generation carpeting was actually from surplus rolls saved by Benny Binion in the 1950s.
